NAGAMITSU Masaru Year of 2019, Master's Program - Completed

During my first half of doctoral program, I conducted research on "Henri IV," a major work by Heinrich Mann, a writer active in 20th century Germany, especially during the interwar period. At the graduate school, I was taught not only the academic knowledge of my field of specialty, but also the attitude toward research, and the "ABC" of research. What I learned in the master's program continues to be the cornerstone of my research even now that I have entered the doctoral program at Kyushu University.

DEL CASTILLO Susana Year of 2009, Doctoral Program - Completed without Doctoral Degree

I studied onomatopoeia (onomatopoeic and mimetic words) throughout the first and second semesters of the doctoral program. Surrounded by professors and graduate students from various specialties related to the humanities, I was able to deepen my considerations from a broad perspective. I am currently teaching as a full-time lecturer in the Department of German at the University's Faculty of Humanities. Modeled after the classes and research guidance I received as a graduate student, I try to develop each student's awareness of issues and spirit of inquiry.

MATSUU Koki Year of 1999, Doctoral Program - Completed without Doctoral Degree

At a university seminar, I met Swiss writer Max Frisch, who I am currently studying. It was at university where I met theater. I received the 8th Odashima Yushi Drama Translation Award for translation of a theatrical script. Graduate school is a place to find a specialist field and find out how it relates to you. Come to think of it, I often went to the professor's laboratory and listened to him talk about literature. This guides me to this day.
