Staff at Nakahara Chuya Memorial Museum HARA Akiko Year of 2010, Master's Program - Completed
I want to work at a literature museum. I want to delve deeper into the world of literature. This was my motivation for going on to study at graduate school. Thanks to my teacher’s meticulous guidance, I spent every day earnestly studying modern Japanese poetry despite being inept at the subject. Making the most of the characteristics of the major, I was able to experience various fields of Japanese literature. Digging deeper into the subject and at the same time looking at it objectively with an open-mind. The importance of asking questions. This perspective cultivated at graduate school supports me in my current job.
Part-time Lecturer at Fukuoka University SATO Momo Year of 2013, Master's Program - Completed
After graduating from university, I worked as a Japanese teacher for about 5 years. I decided, however, to go on to graduate school because I felt I lacked knowledge at work and had many doubts about Japanese grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. While studying as a graduate student, I was involved in Japanese language education as a visiting lecturer. I was able to grasp questions and issues I faced during my work by studying theory, and, conversely, experience in the field helped me to understand research and theory. I feel that learning has become more profound after becoming a working member of society.
I am currently involved in Japanese language education in Japan after having experienced Japanese language education overseas. I think I am able to use my experience and knowledge, including what I learned at graduate school, in Japanese language education more than I was able to before.
